2015-09-28 The Day of the Lord
QUESTION:
Hello Greg
In light of your message on Sunday (You said the earth will not be destroyed by fire and said that there would be no thief in the night scenario) I have the following Q to ask based on these scriptures
2 Peter 3 v 10, Psalm 102 v 26, Isaiah 24 v 19, Isaiah 34 v 4, Isaiah 51 v 6, Micah 1 v 4, Matt 24 v 35, 2 Peter 3 v 7, 2 Peter 3 v 12, Rev 3 v 3, I Thess 5 v 2, Luke 12 v 39, Rev 16 v 15, Rev 21 v 1
When it talks about the earth melting like wax, or the earth being reserved for fire or the destruction of the heavens by fire or the heavens receding like a scroll – what is meant? Is this all metaphorically speaking?
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
