What are Community Groups?

Genuine Christ followers need to have meaningful community with those God has put around us for our mutual growth and maturing. We need to live in a rich web of relationships that together are of great benefit to our wellbeing of spirit, soul and body. We need to be a part of a genuine community who meet together often, know each other well, and care for the REAL self. We need to be a community of people who grow to become friends, who are not just impressed by the projected self; friends who care enough to ask the harder questions and love enough to not give up. We believe “big change happens in small groups” and that for real transformation to take place, “circles are better than rows”. Community groups provide an opportunity to apply the Word to our lives, ask tough questions, wrestle through truth, build trust, be vulnerable, pray together, build friendships with each other and have fun.

We strongly encourage every person who calls Immanuel home to be part of a community group. These groups meet during the week in different locations. Each group is different and so we encourage you to visit a few to decide where you would best find AND add value.

A fun, monthly Saturday gathering at 4pm where couples cook a delicious recipe together, enjoy a shared meal, and build community. R300 per couple (hosts attend free), hosted in rotating homes.

Men’s Group (Monday)
This is a men’s group dedicated to fostering meaningful connections among men under the foundation of Jesus Christ. We meet every 2nd Monday at 9am at Circus Circus in Umhlanga Village, creating a space where men can share life’s journey and support one another in faith, family, and business through open discussions, biblical reflection, and fellowship. All men are welcome to join us as we navigate life together in faith and brotherhood.

This is a dynamic network of self-employed business owners who share a deep love for God, family, and business. United by faith and a commitment to personal and professional growth, we come together to support, inspire, and uplift one another in our entrepreneurial journeys. Our gatherings take place every second Thursday morning at 6:15 AM at Mayfair Coffee Shop on Mackeurtan Avenue, Durban North. These meetings provide a space for meaningful conversations, networking, and mutual encouragement, fostering a strong community of like-minded individuals dedicated to faith-driven success.

Lighthouse Community Group
A supportive community for single adults over 35 to connect with others, grow in their faith, and uplift one another through life’s highs and lows.
