2013-02-07 Apostolic Input?

Q: I have noticed that, although we’ve had some wonderful ministry-type inputs from visiting speakers this year, we (meaning the church as a whole) haven’t had apostolic input. Please could you comment. Thank you so much!

RESPONSE: This is a valid comment in terms of our Sunday meeting input. The only “apostolic” Sunday input has been Ken Grenfell, who is part of an apostolic team and has a strong relationship with the Immanuel family. Greg keeps in touch with him and they benefit each others lives and their respective churches.

In terms of apostolic input outside of a Sunday meeting, Greg does have key apostolic relationships and meets regularly with some guys. Men such as Rory Dyer of Glenridge, Nic Hardy of Red Point, Rob Hutton of The Rock, and Peet Wallace from Cogs, are men to whom Greg is accountable and they know where Immanuel is at and what is going on currently in the life of the church. In particular Rory Dyer and Rob Hutton have walked very closely with Greg throughout this year and have had valuable input and counsel in many matters.

Greg and Sue are travelling to the US at the end of October to attend “The VOICE of the APOSTLES” conference in Baltimore and then on to Bethel Church, in Redding California, for further input and the “Leaders Advance” conference with Bill Johnson.

In particular it has been a year where we have felt God shaping us in a particular direction and thus much of the ministry has been along these lines. We sincerely value and will always maintain our strong apostolic relationships and continue to have apostolic input into the life of the church. We are now in a place where we have vital apostolic connections with a few apostolic teams/flows/networks whereas in the past we were focussed only on one apostolic team. This has broadened us and we feel enriched by these apostolic partnerships.
