Raised from a Deathbed

My cousin, Matthew, was very sick and admitted in hospital in Johannesburg. They tried to treat him for TB, but it got worse. They discharged him, because they were not able to do anything for him and told him to go home to Zimbabwe to die in his homeland. For him to go home myself and my other cousin would have had to raise R14000 to hire a car to send him home as the bus wouldn’t take him because he was too sick to travel by bus. So, I was busy thinking of ways in which I could raise the money to take him home, then on the Thursday I came for the prayer meeting and put the situation forward as a prayer request. And around 19h00 we prayed for him. I had a conviction in my heart that something had happened when we prayed. Then after prayer I went to phone his mother who was staying with him in Joburg. Surprisingly she told me that at around 19h00 that same evening he woke up and went to the toilet on his own – something that he has not been able to do for the past two months. He was also sitting and talking to them. Then I related to her to her how we prayed for her son at around 19h00. She was so happy that she wanted to go to back to Zimbabwe to tell people what happened and that he has been healed. The next day, Friday, I phoned again, and he was drinking tea and having his breakfast, something he not done for the past two months either. I phoned again on Saturday and he was not there as he had gone to buy bread from the shop. So when he came back I talked to him and he said that he would only need bus fare now as he will be able to travel home on a bus or else he could just go back to work. His mother left for Zimbabwe a week later. So people are very happy at home and always phoning me so that I can tell them the testimony of how we prayed and Matthew was healed. Just as Jesus in the Bible was not always physically with the people who He prayed for, I believe that our prayers can reach any person or any situation. It’s only when you bring a prayer request that God will answer the prayer because in His Word He says, “You’ve not yet received, because you’ve not yet asked.” Although we are just a few people praying together on the Thursday night prayer meeting, great things happen when we pray. I invite more people to come to the Thursday prayer meetings!
